Industrial and Construction Companies Registered a 6.8% Increase in Sold Production in 2017

Austrian companies in the construction and the industrial sectors recorded a 6.8 percent increase in sold production in 2017. The total revenue was more than 277 billion euros. The 2017 revenue performance of construction and industrial companies
According to a recent report issued by Statistics Austria, companies in the construction and the industrial sectors managed to record a significant increase in sold production in 2017. These types of companies had a total revenue of 277.3 billion euros, which translates into a 6.8 percent increase in sold production per year.
Other business sectors, such as energy, also boasted a significant percentage growth on a year-on-year basis. Energy providers totaled a 13.5 percent business increase while a different sector, waste management, had an 8.7 increase.
The largest sector according to revenue was material goods production, with companies in this field managing to total a 17.8 percent increase in processing and production.
As far as sub-categories in the construction sector are concerned, cable network installations grew by 46.8 percent and tunnel construction went up by 18.2 percent. Railway construction had the lowest revenue-per-year increase.
According to the same report, the construction sector had a larger total number of companies in Austria, compared to 2016: there was a 1.5 percent increase, totaling more than 65.250 businesses.
